You smile at me and my mind reels.
I try with everything I am to stay suspended in that single fleeting moment,
in that moment where I'm on your mind...
in that moment when your eyes are filled with my reflection...
in that moment where your completely focused on me and nothing else.
I let that single instant sweep over me for as long as it will stretch
because it is then and only then that I belong to you,
and you are completely mine.
I revel in the beauty of your parted lips, your dark consuming eyes, the slow motion we seem to be held captive in,
knowing that that perfect smile is only for me
and hoping that it will never fade...
but time eventually speeds, your eyes wander away from my own, and your lips meet once again...
and I'm left with only a memory of that instant...
yearning for only one more moment,
as I watch you walk away and sigh as the loneliness settles in.
For I'd give my destiny to live in that second...
suspended forever in the splendor of your smile.
