I turned on the tv could not believe what I saw
Another life taken in this pointless war
A talent so precious that if only they knew
How you touched our souls deeply, that much is true
Even as a man I shed a small tear
Thinking of the memories of yesteryear
The times when we danced to your music in school
To the times when I needed you as I acted the fool
So many memories, packed into your life
You gave us so much joy, now it cuts like a knife
I'm left with the silence I have not felt in years
A deafening silence that are disrupted through tears
After the last killing I said "Please lord let it be enough".
Maybe he just looked down and said "Damn kid its just tough".
So Jason, my friend tonight the Brandy's on you
I'll drink to a man so giving and true.....
Here is to you now that you heavens wings
I hope that the angels are dancing and the cherubs will sing
