Just A Good Friend

Our foundation was built in a clay hole
We dug together like a couple of moles
The cement was poured on that sunny day
We both were excited in our geeky way
The basement was poured; it didn't crack.
You stayed there and I went back.
The house came on a rainy day
We tried to pull it but it wanted to stay
We pulled it from the hole; it got a little muddy
You didn't get mad; Hey! What a buddy.
Four sections of home flying in the sky
We both worked hard to help out the guys
I stood upstairs as I pulled your bedroom in
You were watched from across the street with a cheesy grin.
The guys kept on working until it got dark
I left about three to my home in the park
Your house was complete after two months of struggle
The inspectors, the plumbing and flooding to juggle
Finally we met for the final walk thru
It took quite a while; I just like talkin' to you.
That was a year ago, almost to the day.
The warranty is done so I can just fade away.
Our friendship was built on a foundation in clay.
So you ain't gettin rid of me sucka; at least not today.
So if you need a hand I've got one to lend
Not my customer anymore, just a good friend.
