Has become a tempting smile
When the life I live
Is merely death in denial.

Forcibly tied down
To monotonous routine
Long day after day---
This life is mockery!

I'm ready to live!
Though to babbling fools
I am chained to for years
At a wretched, dull school.

I desire freedom
To begin my future
For life with the careless
Is horrible torture.

Not allowed yet to live
And Death is not close
Where do I abide...?
In between these two foes.

Death! Capture me!
Oh, but I fear you have missed.
Life! Consume me!
For all I do....is exist.

Death's snickering face
Has become a tempting smile
When the life I live
Is merely death in denial.

Forcibly tied down
To monotonous routine
Long day after day---

Though to babbling fools
I am chained to for years
At a wretched, dull school.
