I was shot

Oblivious to the crosshairs
aimed in my direction
echoes of gun blasts,
(blam blam blam...)
I look down to find blood
from the countless shots fired

How could I have not seen or heard
the bullets of your intent?
stuck and transfixed,
I was numb to the clues you sent

One cannot help but laugh at the situation
not one bullet hit the heart
instead the gut felt penetration
I asked and therefore received
being a volunteer for the bullets
your aiming gun conceived

The smoke from the fresh cavities
from which I still stand
remind me that secrets
are indeed lethal,
but deadly on the other hand?

You may need a bigger gun
