Your Poetry Dot Com - Why hide feelings

I am going to be completely straight with you,
I am not sure you will like me to,
I feel I must, as this feels all wrong.
Otherwise I feel I will lose something I have not had long,

Where to start, do you seriously realise how I feel?
I thought our situation was ideal,
Alas how wrong could I be?
There is something you really should see.

I do not wish to scare you; I just need you to know,
We both may not have noticed but my feelings have begun to grow,
I cannot sit back and watch this opportunity be squandered,
How can you be sure it cannot be nurtured?

We both suck at holding relationships together,
Yet is it not time to be a little braver?
I feel ready to take the risk, how about you?
I hear you say you’re not, are you sure that this is true?

Are you scared that you really do feel for me?
Why are you scared this will go so awfully?
You should hold some faith in us,
God will guide us as He has given me such boldness.

I am not one to openly discuss how I feel inside,
Yet with you I have nothing to hide,
I do not feel embarrassment when I am around you,
I hold great trust in you too.

Is it so wrong that I feel we should give “us” a chance?
As we already have such fantastic romance.
When you hold me close I am beyond happy,

Are we doing the right thing for us………
