The Perpetuation of a Day

Topic: Sad Poetry

I watched you fade like summer,
Remain my solitude with this cold winter night;

I need the stranger in these even stranger times
To rid myself of these memories of you;

The days have passed through an hourglass,
As I wait frantically for the new;

Haunting images of the sparkle like white in your eyes,
Mine no longer see, nor run yet lay still like stone, like ice;

I darken my nights to close my eyes,
I utilize as a mean to hold you once more;

I feel my heart crumble to the ash,
To know that I miss you like a piece of myself lost;

Although tomorrow is a new day,
For me it will always be the same one.
