Evening's Reflections

Contributed By: travisk
What meaningless comments did I throw
at you this twisted evening?
In the depths of a night very close
to the one before
In which my frame and physical strides
failed me and hurt my friend
How did I describe the irrational instinct
I felt soon after that attack?
I can only assume my tale made you lose
respect for my sad intellect,
driving out any remnants of attractiveness
you might have never had for this pathetic boy.
How are you doing?
What are you doing tonight?
I'll stick to voicing those non-specifics over and over
every day we meet,
caring more about the answers
than you will ever realize
Caring more for you than I dare describe
Writing less of such feelings
for both our sakes
