my graces, my dear lovely
what is it you see in me?
these places, they're so friendly
each thing that's come to be
new faces, pass by closely
familiar forms start to weave
more graces, now more lovely
in a picture i can believe

closer and farther
better but harder

new morning, and a fresh start
sunshine bright and sky blue
no warning, now in my heart
still another thought of you
it's forming, not just in part
not a partial display of truth
this morning, again it starts
a softer heart in love with you

farther and closer
harder but better
not what you wanted
yet all that you needed

and be as it may
i will die before i'm dead
and in this mass array
there is so much left unsaid
and know that you stay
in paths where i was led
and every single day
you feed on what i've fed

old evening, in the same end
it mostly goes about the same
cold seething, airy dew blend
never dulls me nor never plain
yes believing, now later then
blessed beyond that you came
this evening, yes now it ends
forget this once what to blame

closer yes farther
better yes harder
not what we wanted
yet all that we needed
odd now but deeper
climbing is steeper
not what we chanced on
yet still we romanced on

now be as it may
i will die before i'm dead
and in this mass array
there is so much left unsaid
and know that you stay
in paths where i was led
and every single day
you feed on what i've fed
now all that i say
it now runs across ahead
in this game we play
inside of you and me my head
yes more still i pray
to do best nothing instead
and be as it may
i will hold to all i've said

my graces, my lovely
embracing my heart so near
my princess, so friendly
chacing away thoughts of fear
beautiful, so kindly
you pay mind and give an ear
my sweetheart, so lively
you hold this heart so near
