That I was cleansed of all my fear
And I left my body-that warm curse
And Fate took my hand in hers

Above it all we floated high
The stars were gone, the moon was nigh'
And then. before my eyes unfurled
A vision of my troubled world.

There it all was, laid out below
All i once was, and how i've grown
How parts of me were lost and gained
How I'll never be the same.

And then from the sky I fell
Into my self-created hell
Before a sea of my own love and hate
I now found my helpless self prostrate.

And out of this scene so strange
Fate appeared and said I had to change
"You need a little less hate and more love
You need a little less hawk and more dove"

That evil mistress had called my bluff
And now I'm filled with love-more than enough
More than I really want, or so it would seem
Now that I've waken from that dream.

I live on time that fate doth lend
All that I know is that it will end
I know not what part I play in her plan
But here I am, a walking dead man.

It came upon a midnight clear
That I was cleansed of all my fear
"Hello, grave" I said with a grin
I kissed my coffin, and climbed right in.
