As I was shoping with gifts in my hand,
I saw a little girl who seemed to weak to stand,
As I walked up to the counter to pay,
I noticed she was crying,as she walked away,
I asked this little girl, why do you cry?
She told me "my mommys going to die,"
this will be her last Christmas with me,
so daddy isnt hanging lights on the tree,
I wanted to buy her a gift she will love,
and take it with her when she meets God above,
but daddy saids "we cant celebrate Christmas this year,
I'm paying for doctor bills,so the moneys not here,"
As the little girl started to cry more,
she started to walk out the store,
I asked her what is your moms favorate things?
She said simply,an angel with wings,
My mommy said shes going to be an angel soon,
flying up above the stars & the moon,
But this angel on the shelf I wanted to buy,
Is too much money, this is why I cry!
I bought the angel, and had it wraped with care,
I told her to take it,as I stroked her blonde hair,
She cried with happiness, and said Thank you,
Now my mommy will have wings too,
She ran out the door, with a smile on her face,
but the memory of this child,I couldnt erase,
not caring if she got a toy this year,
only wanting to buy for her mother dear,
If theres a Santa I hope he can see,
that this little girl, needs more than a tree!
