I feel that the poem explains itself better than I can in my author's notes. [bodytext] =>
Alone

When you are by yourself you are alone.
This for everyone is true.
But to feel alone when you are not.
This I will try explaining to you.

I'm alone when I'm by myself.
I'm alone when I'm with my family.
I'm alone when I'm with my friends.
And I'm alone even when it's you and me.

I'm alone with the monsters
Entering through my past
They never ever seem to leave me
They just grow and last.

It seems like no one knows me.
Or tries to understand.
My heart just hurts and aches.
Tied up with a million rubber bands.

Some people have intentionallly hurt me.
Some people tried but couldn't be there.
Some people came and left.
Some people pretended to care.

All I want is someone to hold me.
Through this night and forever.
Someone whom I will never doubt.
Whom my trust can never be severd.

I want to believe in us.
I want to belive in you.
Please show me that you want me.
And show me that you are true.

I have a broken, wounded heart.
More than words can express.
I end up giving my heart and my soul.
And wind up with so much less.

I give myself to you.
It comes with the great and comes with the bad.
I just want to get past these fears.
And the part of me that is oh so sad.

I believe in faith.
I believe in trust.
But I also believe in pain.
Because I feel it just so much.

I want someone to run to.
Yet, want to stand on my own.
I want to battle the deamons.
That others have thus bestowed.

I'm still giving you my heart.
In hoping that you would.
Take me, hold me and learn about me.
Like I know that you could.
