Today there is a bird chirping the grateful song of hope
on a sunny day over the window,
as the sun radiantly sprays the room
with its warmth.

This is a new day,
with new hopes,
new desires,
and new fears,
but if you listen closely,
there is one underlying feeling,
......hmm......
a union of clarity,
the sense of calmness with a slight
subtle,
yet profound touch of gratefulness,
that is always eternally present.

And as you step out of your home,
and walk down the street with thoughts
of the present day's expectations,
remember to pay attention to that calm
quiet solitiude,
which accompanies us through every moment,
of every day.

Because when you can learn to finally rest
within this solitude,
at every moment, even while dreading tomorrow's future,
or your past regrets,
when you can learn to rest within this solitude,
the feeling of gratitude will resonate in your chest,
and your heart will reverberate
these thankful waves through your body,
and your eyes will see,
seemingly for the first time,
the infinitely clear blue sky,
and your ears will hear,
seemingly for the first time,
the crispness of the bird's song,
and you will be happy to walk further along the sidewalk,

feeling,
truely loving,
each and every step you take,
like the way you felt as a toddler,
taking your first steps with your wide eyes
of amazement and delight,
you will feel alive.

And when you fall into the grass,
you will stretch your arms and legs
and rest
in this eternal moment of gratitude,
silently screaming "YES"
