But I Did

I am your friend who's always here
To wipe away that silent tear
I know at times I've gone astray
I've gone quite far, but not away

You asked for space, and asked for time
So that your heart, could not beat wit mine
But I was foolish, selfish and greedy
Jealous, alone, abandoned and needy
I wanted you here, your body and soul
To have, to cherrish, to love and to hold
You wanted your space, we argued and cried
We fought to the point, that your love for me died
You wished you were dead, and I wished I was too
I hope that our feelings, at that time were not true
Cause I am still your friend, from for now till forever
And I pray, in some way, that we could still, be together
