What a surprise...

I'm thinking
Yet another...

I've been weathered
Teathered
Torn and chained

The boy within...
Slain

It took just one minute
A moment in time

Why was I so blind?

I saw it coming
I knew it would hurt

I still wound up with my face in the dirt

it hurt
I felt..
IT ALL

I was powerless to escape
I tried to crawl
But I just fell

Fell into this world
This place
This shattered paradise

Everything is okay now
Maybe thats the problem?
Everything is okay...

Though it may be an oddity
Its become a sweet addiction

The spear through my soul
The nails in my heart

its bittersweet
Pain laced with a bit of lust

I lust for it
The bittersweet pain of
One love
One hope
One dream

its so far away now
I see it from the back of a boat
like a distant island fading away..
I was nearly there as we passed it
But it just slipped away
Me
Powerless

Yet
Through all of this
I'm thankful
I'm crazy
I'm hurting

But I'm me
No one can steal that
No one can take it
It is the one true thing through out it all

Its been torn
Its been reborn
But it still walks this earth
Step
Step
Step
Marching to the beat of a drum
But failing marching out of chorus..


I may be strange
I may be torn
I may be flawed
I may be pathetic

But I'm real
I'm me
I'm Jake
I know this

It gives me power
Strength

I can take it all now

Throw what you will
It will hit me
And yes
it will hurt

I could care no more

because I understand now
I get it
I know..
