Unrequited love simply hibernates.
Emotions awakened at every chance meeting.
Feelings of hunger and lust, one in the same, overwhelm me.
Love so strong, it floods when it wakes and permeates through to the heart of me.

You will never be told.
I am not free so this love matters not in the slightest.
You would be uncomfortable and, perhaps, silly.
I have no desire to see a man reduced to immaturity.
Perhaps you would avoid me. Find excuses to be excused. Reasons to explain your reasons.
Perhaps you would love me.

No. I cannot let on. Instead I hide it. I keep it all in.
My heart is a cave. Dark, yes, but I am burning.
I am in it, yet it is empty.
I am the one who hibernating. Not my love.
I cannot sleep forever.
I will not love anyone else.

Awakened. Put to sleep. What does it matter?
I cannot have you.
