Felicity in Life

In these eighteen short years that I've been alive
I think I've experienced more than my share
this is not another depressing poem, Baby
I am moving on...I just need to get there
So here's the part where I say to you
"My sadness, my suffering will never end,
I am weak and I will thrive on your pity,
why, oh, why have I been condemned?"
I don't think so, not this time and never again
I don't want anyone's pity, I am who I am
and I love the person that I've become
so if they don't like it, I don't give a damn
I may not have had the chances they did
but all the opportunity's here now with me
I won't hold back because I am strong
My life is good and I know you can see
My favourite thing about you is that
you love me for me, even with my flaws
you know I'm not perfect, but you don't care
seeing every inch of me as I am, as I was
Everyday the sun will shine a little brighter
And every second that passes, I'll stand more high
Seeing ever more clearly felicity in life
knowing you'll be beside me by and by
