LITTLE THINGS

Beautiful houses filled with material things, are a pleasure to look at, but what do they mean?
They can’t give you hugs when your lonely or sad, they can’t make you smile when your day
has been bad.

These luxury cars are wonderful to drive, but what can they give you, Other than a good ride?

Clothes are a joy, a must in this life, but what can they give you other than strife?
We look in the mirror in each pair of jeans, and think we’re humongous, So see what I mean?

It’s the little things in life, that should matter more, a pat on the back, a thank you and please,
a smile and nod from a stranger, because you opened a door.

Little things like butterflies, dancing in the wind, a moonlit night, a letter you send. A walk on the beach, some time with your thoughts, a kiss from a Mother, you thought you had lost. A day spent with family, a talk with a friend, a ride in the country, a way to pretend.

I’m talking about joys you have everyday, but you can’t really see them for “Life’s” in the way.
We work everyday, because we have to survive, put food on the table, have some kind of life.
Just don’t forget that out there, among all of the rest, are little things that are waiting for you,
to see them at their best.
