703outsiderFormerMemberHi, thanks for the comment on my poem, no it wasn\'t ficticious, that christmas day is my earliest memory. I was playing with a toy piano and he had a hangover so he got me to stop playing it the only way he knew how. I imagine my wailing afterwards was much louder than the piano ever was lol.... 722Unaekseveer1RoseHi Amber,
I hope you have a couple of minutes to read this!
My theory is that the object which hit this planet, an estimated 4.5 billion years ago, which then became the moon we see today, was actually once orbitting Mars! We know it is slowly drifting away from us as we speak. When it escapes the pull of Earths gravity, the speed at which we spin will be altered, lessening the balanced effect of this gravity. Everything which isn\'t \'glued down\' if you like\' will drift off into space! This is where the water/atmosphere went from the surface of Mars!
The age of these planets is estimated to be somewhere between 12 and 15 Billion years, this leaves a large amount of time before the Moon hit us, bringing with it the bacteria that\'s here now, enough time for our level of evolution to have happened twice maybe three times over! But all remnants of this would\'ve been liquified in the event, leaving no trace for us to see!
Life had also been evolving on Mars, to the extent that the beings living there knew exactly what was happening and the devistation that was impending. So they found another star system with similar life sustaining planets, and developed a way to go there to live out of harms way!
They still live there, as well as other places and are still looking back at the remains of the home planets they had to leave behind. Maybe over time they\'ve forgotten, but I believe they are coming back!
My problem lies with the way our so-called experts determine the age of rock using carbon dating methods, they seem unable to realise what volcanoes are doing, constantly regurgetating older particles, pulled towards the iron core, into new surface ones.
This effect means that carbon dating can only give short term theories. The actual age of the Universe could be and probably is infinitely greater than is possible for us to grasp!
Evolution of life must be advanced to incredible levels in many, many places. And evolution itself is brought about by desire, the desire to survive!
Smaller dinosuars grew feathers and the physical attributes required for flight, becoming Birds, in order to escape the mammals who had, in turn and by desire, developed the teeth and claws required to catch and eat them. Aquatic life, Mammals, Fish and Crustations, desired the food beneath the waves and so on.
We Humans are at the point where we desire other attributes, at the moment we have enough food and think we\'re only really in danger of ourselves and desease. Things like new forms of communication and pleasure, telepathy is a possibility, and the search for pleasure will eventually allow us to enjoy unaided flight.
The only people I see actully doing this now, are aqua/astronauts and drug takers! So we will, by desire, develope such things as gills and skin that can withstand high levels of radiation and extremes in temperature. Or we will suicidally become a Human Empire of hallucinogen addicts, which already happened to some cultures in history!
But, so far we do not fully recognise our desire to survive! Another major impact on this, or one of our neighbouring planets is going to happen, and our Moon is going to leave at increasing velocity!
I\'m affraid we will not realise this in time, so our distant ancestors better hurry up and return for us!
Maybe they already are, using some form of telepathy! Maybe this is why some of us even bother considering these sort of things?
When we think we may have an answer, all we really do is create more questions!
I have to go to sleep now, it\'s almost five past three in the morning here. So good night and don\'t worry, I have a \'crazy\' theory about flies as well!
We\'ll survive somewhere!

Dean
I cant see if this worked either, and yes I got a whole line of Smilies2002-07-22 12:06

781Terry_Stephen_DriscollChrissieI\'ve just got home and mum has had a particularly bad day (medication balance and all that) I\'ve fed and settled her now though. Coffee? I would love a latte - I don\'t think I have the energy to make one myself - and another loooooong day to come tommorrow.
As for the site - my main critisism is that it doesn\'t encourage me to read through all the poetry - I think we both have enjoyed the new writers and encouraged them etc, but the new postings are surrounded by busy nonsense that soon has me bored when I start reading. I find myself skipping through to the pages of people I know and trying to catch up on their newest stuff - even if I don\'t have time to comment - I do think the site has lost more than it\'s gained despite some nice new features. It\'s hard for me to make friends but I hope that I will have some on this site

As for what you said about how it felt to have epilepsy, well I can definitely relate. I lost most of my friends when I started to \'go crazy\' around age 14 and I still have very few friends because people think I\'m weird. Everyone seems to have this idea of what schizophrenia is-- they think that I have multiple personalities, or that I\'m dangerous, or that I can\'t be trusted. It\'s pretty painful when you aren\'t allowed around people\'s kids (I love being around kids, they\'re great) because people think you will scare or hurt them, because they don\'t understand the disease.

I am on medication and it really helps control the schizophrenia. I could probably lead a normal life now if I didn\'t have a lot of other mental issues to deal with. People tend to think that being mentally ill means I\'m retarded or something... it\'s rare that I am just treated like a normal person. Online, I tend to get more respect, but I also feel that people should know I am a schizhophrenic because it isn\'t something I should be ashamed of. It\'s very scary and painful at times but it\'s something I have to live with, and I wish that others would treat me normally. 880LJThumbsuckerThank you for your concern. I can gladly say that I am not suicidal any more. Sometimes I write about the emotions and feelings that i used to have. An event can trigger something and I find it really helps me to put it on paper. Thank you soo much for your concern. But don\'t worry! I am doing good!

Thanks

[quote]
On 2002-07-20 03:28, Thumbsucker wrote:
I wanted to write privately to you LJ.

You seem to be going through a terrible time right now. 897outsiderChrissieHi, I wasnt expecting a reply so quickly! You really should be published, I have no idea how you manage to write so many top quality poems so quickly, just natural talent I guess.
There is a site called poetry.com that I submitted a couple of poems to, it looks very sleek and professional. They have monthly competitions with $10,000 U.S. prize money. I submitted them for the heck of it so imagine my surprise when i received a letter in the post from Maryland saying i\'d reached the semi finals of their yearly competition (top prize $20,000) then I got another letter saying id won their prize and i was to go to Washington DC to collect my award as International Poet of Merit 2002..........naturally it was too good to be true as I did a little investigating.....so if you hear of them steer well clear. I have won an award from them that they refuse to give me!! so dont submit anything to that site, your writing is too good for that!!!2002-07-25 09:00
