Check your Facts
If you want the best of it; You have to do the rest of it.
Boring details we’ve ignored; Reveal mistakes we can’t afford.
This applies to writing; Construction and romance!
Denial is enticing; Ask those who rushed to chance!
We could have saved Apollo 8, and Custer, don’t you think?
Frozen bolts that sheared with jolts; saw Titanic sink.
Who, says I, identifies, with such mundane details?
Who is trained and so right-brained; that they would seldom fail?
Who understands the nuances, of color, scent and sound?
Who would check each circumstance; and run it to the ground?
Women excel in knowing well such tiny flaws and errors;
Having traced for years their face, in magnifying mirrors.
