Siren Call
/ //// /
he was a sailor, home from the sea,
and all his time was given to me.
my myriad stories,
all of my fears;
the dreams and plans
poured into his ears.
he took it all in,
gave it its due
prompted me further,
until it felt true.
yet ever so often,
I would see in his gaze
the looks cast as anchors
to turquoise waves.
he was a sailor, home from the sea,
and all his love was given to me.
deep kisses of passion,
caresses of skin;
love at its heights
and the depths of its sin.
but in the darkest of morn,
before day has its start,
I sensed the yearning
that stirred his true heart.
he was a sailor, gone to the sea
and for all of my heartache,
it was where he should be.
