Fools Paradise
I met her and set her above me; To get her;
I bluffed with bravado and tried;
So hard to impress her, outlaugh and outguess her;
This fool built a fools paradise.
I thought it went well; and pitched for the sell;
Surprised she saw through my disguise;
A love match one-sided; Afraid Id decided;
To show her the person inside.
But it WAS me she wanted. No hero undaunted!
She loved the poor misfit I hide.
Tucked safe in my prison; In love with my vision;
Who lost her with beautiful lies.
