It is some of my more inspirational work. Not dark or anger or anything like that. Plz Comment [bodytext] => ---------________--------------

so innocent they seem
in the little cribs where they sleep
with tiny hands clenched tight
as they endure this night

ignorant of environment
and circumstances that brought you in
I can't tell you
that it gets any better from here

a double helix of destruction
the only gift from the one
who should have loved him
but he couldn't prevent what ensued

a photograph in your mind
watching him shrink from behind
the gamete donor
the one who left your mother behind

a painful cycle, staring down the rifle
resentment anger and strife will cause you
to wake up and find
the mirror hold the man you hate

don't be afraid
you're not incapable of change
you can recover
from those choices you never made

you're the man of the house now
even though you don't know how
to protect your mother
like all those people tell you to

and you try to hold back your tears
and you try to conquer your fears
and to understand
where it all went wrong

no peace
for a soul
when hope
always seemed out or reach

your struggle
won't be suffered
in vain
when walls built to hold you back are razed

thrown back in their face
shown their own disgracefully harsh judgement
of a situation that a child
was never meant to be thrown into

yet he walks the line oh so true
just to prove
that he's stronger than any of you [comments] => 2 [counter] => 175 [topic] => 19 [informant] => MajesticPoet [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => InspirationalPoems )
