It kicks you from here to there,
Showing no mercy as it kills,
Never stopping, it destroys with skill.

People fall victim every day,
Dying as it sucks your life away,
Taking your very last breath,
Draining you til there’s nothing left.

It steals from us our loved ones,
Putting the blinkers over our sun,
Squeezing everything we have,
And in our faces it just laughs.

Cancer knows no love just hate,
Serving up death on a plate,
Watching as we suffer,
Ripping away our only cover.

It washes over killing all it touches,
We can only watch as it butchers,
The people we love & hold dear,
Cancer’s driven by all our pain & our fear.

This touched me in many ways. As a cancer surviver I thank you from the bottle of my heart for this poem. Even as a surviver cancer effects me every day of my life. Love and peace be to you and your family.

Krissie, this touches a deep ache in my heart. I watched my husband and aunt die slow deaths because of this vile disease. We humans are so vulnerable in spite of all the knowledge that is in this world. I just have to look at it as God needed special angels and took the best of the bunch.

Great job expressing yourself Pix...It is such a horrible disease, and I have lost too many loved ones because of it...The ending really touches home. Well done.

Scorp.

I'm with you Pix, it's a horrible disease. It took both of my parents(they both died in their 40's). It has taken numerous others in my family. When I found out I was pregnant with my son who is now 3, they found cancer, luckily because of the pregnancy it was detected early and they removed it all. That's why my son is like my miracle baby. Ladies have those paps every year and the mammogram after age 40.(listen to the nice nurse). Early detection is a major key. Peace to all. Great write. Laura

I know what you mean. My friend is also dying from this monster of a diseas. Sadly we all want it to be banished from this world, but i don't see that happening in the future. Hmmm....

Anyways you know i love your poems, you always have that great way of expressing yourself with it. Making everyone who reads it feel everything that your feeling. I say well done.

Hugs,
Jane xxxx

I think you did an amaing job with this poem. It really hits home for me...I lost my mother to breast cancer when I was 13 and I just found out that my grandmother was diagnosed with lung cancer. I'm very sorry for the loss that has made you write this poem, but I'm glad that you can write about it. It really helps with the pain.
