"I don't think I'll ever
be able to hold you like this again."
What then, is the point
Of holding me at all?

You say
"This is the worst pain
I have ever felt."
But have you once considered
The torture I feel?

You say
"Everything happens
For a reason."
Why, then, do you rely
So much upon luck?

You say
"There is nothing I need here;
If it wasn't for money, I'd be there"
Have you really considered
The emptiness of a new place?

You say
"You're perfect -
Beautiful, and smart"
How much money, then,
Is perfection really worth?

You say
"It will happen
For us someday"
What about the possibility
That 'it' is just not a possibility?

You say
"We will both be
Different people by then"
How often do you change,
And do your feelings change as well?

You say
"There is nowhere I'd rather be
Than right here with you"
Are you aware that we're still there,
And that may be our last memory?
