Sitting on a bench
as I walked through the park
A very beautiful lady
All Alone in the dark

I couldn't imagine why
she would be there All Alone
There must have been a reason
but to me it was unknown

I decided at that moment
that I would sit down too
And ask this lovely lady
if there was anything I could do

Do you need any help
or is everything okay
Are you often All Alone
and would you prefer I go away

Your are so very kind
were her words in reply
To even take an interest
you are really a good guy

She opened up a little
with the problems that she had
From the things that she told me
I could see why she was sad

I tried to console her
the best way that I could
Hoping that the advice I gave
would help and do some good

She thanked me over and over
a smile was on her face
She told me she would take my advice
and live her life, at a different pace

I went away smiling
having given a helping hand
Doing what comes naturally to me
and nothing that was planned

Very nice Bruce..

Your writes are wonderful..

You have a very strong speaker voice..

You sure know how to bring the
character (s) to life and make them very visual.

Thank you.. I enjoyed it very much.

You know, at first I thought the Dark Lady was the grim reaper! lol I'm sure glad it wasn't. I like when I can read something without stumbling over parts and have to go back and re-read. Great piece, Bruce. Kudos!
