After all those years
I still don’t understand.

Was it a twisted leap of fate?
Was it something you did intentionally?
How could this have happened?

You were still so young,
16, going on 17.
How could a life so pure,
Be taken away from the world so soon?

Didn’t you see the lights?
Didn’t you hear it coming?

I see the train and I think of you,
Think of the pain you were going through.
My thoughts go back to that defining night again,
I can´t imagine how you must have felt.

Did you feel any pain?
Did you feel free?
Did you feel at all?

You must have seen the lights,
You must have heard it coming,
So why didn’t you jump aside?

Why stay there,
Where it can hit you,
Where it can kill you?

So many questions,
Never to be answered.

Death is always like that and the scars never really heal we just hide them away. Great write.

I am so very sorry for the loss of your friend. I do feel though that everything that happens in this universe happens for a reason. We may never understand but we are always exactly where we need to be in life. Even on a train-track with a train bearing down. I do believe strongly in karma and it does work strangely and is seldom understood.

Very sad write and you conveyed your confusion well.

I hope the pain and grief for you does soon subside.

Hope and empathy.
