Array ( [sid] => 102783 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Change Gonna Come [time] => 2005-08-05 21:01:37 [hometext] => sometimes the same tears keep coming back to you every day and you just can't take it but you can't loose hope. [bodytext] => 7/17/2005

keep your eyes on the road, you don’t want to crash and burn
and try to survive I’ll be here with you to stay alive

so hard living it’s crazy I’m still breathing
change gonna come
for good or for bad
keep looking ahead search for your destiny

keep your head up high
and get off of your knees
look up to the sky
but stop praying to God
you need to keep yourself strong
and keep you eyes open wide
put your laziness behind
wipe your tears aside
if you survive then looking back you know you made it because your tried

keep your soul fresh
and don’t let your faith fade
forget the pain and hope for a better day

I know change has to come
And the past has to go
Don’t feel no sorrow
But if you keep looking down aint nothing gonna be better tomorrow
You have to love yourself for who you are
Black, white, Puerto Rican, Asian or Dominican
Have Love for yourself and always others cuz we are all common

Act like yourself but if you don’t you’ll regret it
When you grow up you’ll see you’ve wasted your days
Being not yourself, then later you’ll be confused in a daze
You’ll try to find yourself but won’t know where to start because you’ve been somebody else all your life

I know its hard to start over
But do yourself a favor
And your mornings will be brighter and greater
Remember if you survive today you can do it tomorrow
Cuz change gonna come, you gotta know it [comments] => 2 [counter] => 155 [topic] => 21 [informant] => LongingFor [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )

I am not sure how to respond to your poem except to say I hope that what ever path you follow leads you to the place you want to be.

An interesting opem though I believe you did not need to list any races, it seemed to bother me, but good luck, have hope and have faith down whatever path you might choose. This poem reminded me of my old self and how I used to be. SLipSiX.
