reassuring me..
destroying me with ferocious intent,
heightening my perception..
the blackest cat secure
in it's feline nirvana,
rejecting people,
leaving me marooned in nothingness
my dull and beaten eyes
fixed upon some insurmountable peak
'till the swaying, insubstantial space of the day
consumes the majestic terror of a beginning and an end.

Somewhere in my mind it prowls..
ravaging the remnants of my sensibilities
faltering..turning me to stone

I'm hoisted high on a makeshift cross
a prey to every unreasoned self doubt..
tossing my mind about
with cruel and happy abandon.

I speak the greatest nonesense known to suffering man.

Sometimes catching a glimpse of Morning Hope,
something around the corner..
I'm fumbling and groping towards the light-

I know this evil well..
beyond the calling of it's name-
a sweet pestilence inside my skin
thrusting me high to Icarus heights
on melting wings
'till I plummet to familiar depths,
familiar beyond the telling.

Come morning, I hope..
but find this old bastard still ruling my mind.

Billy, just keep grasping for the light of life. Do not let stress wear you down. It is not the big problems in life that destroy us but the day to day build up stress that takes us down. Stress not only affects us emotionally but physically as well. There is beauty in life and you must search for it. "Get thee behind me Satan" every morning can do wonders. Clear you life of unnecessary stress and refuse to let life take you down. The will is inside you, let it reign. Defy dark and come back into the light of life.

Rita

Well, topic aside...I like the way you delivered your words so precisely, and the format and use of italics was appropriate...as for the grim topic...
As always you expressed yourself quite well...I've noticed your writes have been darker as of late, and I hope things are okay with you...

Loved it again, my favorite was it's ending, the last 2 stanzas. You're
a talented writer and I always appreciate your suggestions and
opinions. I like how you gave what is in your mind a being, or I don't
know quite how to explain it, but made it a tangible entity I
guess. Good stuff.

This was so stunning. The figurative language was amazing, the metaphors blew me away, and all of those emotionally loaded words were so powerful... I really really loved it.

I thought this was an introspective write. A lot of meaning behind the words..or so it would seem.

An incredible description of the battle with the demons of self-doubt
and unworthiness and the undying wish to overcome ..

In you lies strength and ability unyet tapped, dearest poet. I believe it
with unwavering conviction! Concious choice is not always conciously
chosen .. (n'est pas?)
Damn, your work is the most profoundly emotive I've
encountered here. It touches my soul and leaves
a mark that shall remain ever imprinted.

Beautiful work, dearest. Though painful to digest ..

with love,
~Breezy
