Array ( [sid] => 103428 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Ongoing Struggle [time] => 2005-08-13 21:06:36 [hometext] => this is the first poem i have written in a long time... i cry when i read it.. i dedicate this poem to my love, Rachel [bodytext] => Laying here, crying here
Wishing for a day this pain could just slip away
Trying to find a reason, a purpose to carry on
Everything I had, hoped to have seems to be lifeless and gone
Living and dreaming recklessly through the days
Wondering how this world will mend its ways
While thinking of my life through the guilt
Of knowing the irony in how they all truly felt
The reason, the passion, the love, the cause
But now, you cannot break through your walls
Your mistakes caught you dreaming and unaware
In our little world we created to far from anywhere
Will this terrible and unforgiving world let you go?
To me, to another, I shall not know
My regret is not having the opportunity to kiss you goodbye
Still replaying the moments we shared until the day I die
Praying those bars barricading you within
Will not always be there to hold you in
Kissing your picture and looking into those eyes
Already forgotten all our mistakes and lies
I would give anything, all my being, to have you here
Right now
In my desperate times of misery and sorrow
To kiss your lips, to touch your face
Would heal me forever and not leave a trace
Of this bitterness that grows
From the knowledge that no one knows
But someday, one far from now
I will find you some how
Pull you back into the love we share
And live happily forever without a care
We will turn our backs to this world that keeps us apart
Breathe deeply and begin our new start

Strong, heartfelt and beautiful. I can feel the anguish, the love and the pure, raw emotions.

This is a great poem. You have a great vision for the future even though it may not turn out that way.
