Waking up every morning and hating what you’ve become,

Subjected to the pain of losing who you thought was the one,

Feeling this emptiness inside you,

Not knowing why you do what you do,

And the only person who can stop it,

Is the person who pushes you away,

Hurting yourself to numb the pain you’ve kept inside too long,

Not knowing what you’ve done to make this turn out so wrong,

Wanting to move on, but he’s always on your mind,

Wanting to get over the person who you thought you’d left behind,

And you don’t know what its like,

With the knife held in your hand,

Wanting someone to listen,

But they’re too scared to understand,

Wanting someone to hold your hand,

As you sit and cry,

Someone who’ll see past your smile,

And your pack of lies,

And I want someone to realise,

That since the day that we first met,

You’re the only one who’ll ever stop,

The crimson river of regret,

A haunting, gut-wrenching, intense emotional work. You did an outstanding job with this. I'll be wringing out tears from my heart for the rest of the day.

Peace and gentle hugs,
john
