i'm the only one who can turn the key,
a prison of my own making, spun from fear and pain,
out side stand the monsters that wait to kill my brain.

Absolutely brilliant write, sure its a huge pity that such horrific and painfull subjects cause such incredible creativity but at least its something positive to take from a feeling that is unbearable all the time. this is so brilliantly written i can really relate to it and to a small measure of how you were feeling at the time of the write even though the cause(s) remain a mystery, truly just a brilliant write to be honest.

well done.

down down down into a black pit .. then up up up .. and no one understand unless they have been there .. they claim too and they pat your back .. and smile a smug smile .. but they don't; not really. nice write.

This is a great poem on depression. If this is real in your life please seek help. I suffered for almost a year before seeking help and life was hell. Mine was caused by a health trauma and required medication because I let it go on so long. I know the effects and I also know there is help. Blessings. Hopefully this will help others who suffer in silence.

Smiles,
Rita

Wow, excellent discription of how isolating depression can be. I use to invision it the same exact way, like a my own personal cell that I couldn't escape from, except when I would sleep.
It does get better though. You have to believe that. I'm living proof.

Take care and God bless,
Liz
