A million miles or more,
I guess life goes on
But I’m no longer sure.

You pushed me away
And my heart broke,
Our lifelong friendship
Up in smoke.

You hold my life up
And all that you see -
A pinnacle of excellence,
All you wanted to be.

Why don't you know
That I cry too?
That I stand on the brink
Just like you do.

The difference is
That I open my life,
A million hearts cry
When I’m in strife.

Don’t be so proud girl,
You forget what’s true -
That someone like me
Will never judge you.

Yes your life's hard,
That I can't deny.
I can't pretend I'll fix it,
Can hold you when you cry.

Keep trying to be strong
But be without doubt,
My shoulder’s all yours,
I won’t shut you out.

The years will go on
But I’ll still be here,
Waiting for you
To once more be near.

Awww, I can understand this.

I have had friendships turn away, myself. And I still miss them.

This is a really good write. Your feelings are shown well, and in a way I'm sure many readers can understand and relate to.

Great write.
