I think about human nature
storms prove if we''re mature.
Do we rob and steal from our neighbors
or wait for relief to come?

Do you help your friend to change
things wrong in his charecter
or steal from him when he is gone
because you think he deserves it?

Life is tough for everyone
we''ll all die when it is done
but will we find the life we want
when we go to the place we come from

I looked at desaster sweep the earth
a natural thing of God''s design
I saw something very unnatural
a neighbor beat and left to die

We only get one chance at life
to change the charecter we have
for when the reaper comes for us
no wisdom lies with in the grave

A convenant God set with us
that we would get to know him true
we let our chances pass and rust
becoming animals and fools

"Why is it that we hate so much
is it so hard to learn to love
is there something that this life can give
to end internal suffering"

We always must be better
but better doesn''t equal right
the world could be much better
if we did not always fight

"I have to have this for me
it won''t bring me to my ruin
I have to have this for me
it won''t lead to my destruction"

I hear these words everyday
and they think that they won''t die
I can not believe that they give in
to such a horrible lie

Do you think that you are better
than those who perished this week
I say that a day is coming
where all will face the creek

The floodgates will break open
and each man will have to deal
with the things that make him a man
what he is and how he feels

I know it doesn''t seem right
we live in an imperfect world
where storms bring out the truth in us
and our true selves are unfurled

I feel sorry for the innocents
who have died because of sin
I feel sorry for the ones who''ll die
in storms that will come here

Many died in the storm Katrina and it was a great natural desaster, my heart goes out to them. Many died after the storm that did not have to and that shows who we really are. I am sad and I wonder if the same thing happened in our home town would we too forget our humanity as many did as Katrina removed the shroud over their heart and revealed who they really were. "Who are we?
--------------------------------------------------------------------
I do hope that we help the people who have suffered so much in this tradgedy and I hope we remember their story that we are the same type of people. It is easy to love when all is perfect but in the storm we become who we really are. Whether it is by hurricane, flood or some event of life that only affects us our true self will be revealed. I hope i will be a giver and a helper and not a taker and a thief or murderer.

Just something to ponder as you live life. [comments] => 5 [counter] => 173 [topic] => 21 [informant] => Archie [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 20 [ratings] => 4 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )

Archie:

Thank you for posting this. I have been crying. Praying until my last prayer.

I don't feel good at all.

I just want everyone out here in the world to pray, I beg you, go to Jesus, repent. Kneel.. You have no choice.

Oh Archie. it won't stop until people realize the power of prayer.

I am tired of hearing people say they don't believe or trust.

If its something learned from a childhood fear or whatever. Get over it.

If you are just trying to think with your brain, and you can't come to grips with a truth, stop.

Listen deep to your heart.

Come on world, lets all pull together hear, I am crying out hard. Pray.. I won't be here much longer to write this message.

I am burned out with tears, but I pray, and pray each day, and try to forget my own selfish pains, in order to help my LORD bring all of you together.'

Stop hating. please throw your damn clocks out.

Time is going away .

Raquel Leah :D

excellent
excellent poem.
most people, when they talk about Katrina, they are bashing bush. But you show the real side of it. you show what the people really go through. and your right - destruction and hard times bring out the real us.
Were you in Katrina? or have relatives that were in Katrina? because I am amazed. This can only come from someone who either has had many experiences to learn from, or someone who has great empathy.

I watched the terrible tragedy of what nature can really do on tv yesterday. I cried from my heart and soul. Children left starving rape and murder committed to those crying out in pain. Old people left in their homes with no rescue. Five days they had been there with no help. God bless America who's help could have come sooner to those in need. Whilst bush sits on his golden throne eating 10 course dinners pondering on making decisions others are left to die. What a cruel world it can be Archie.
We all need to look in to our hearts and ask ourselves this question what if it was me and my family in this situation? God made man but he did not image him in the ways of his evil deeds.
Pray for the ones who have and are enduring this terrible disaster.
Many go about their daily lives with only a passing thought for others. Time to help time to pray. Time to look at your conscience and dig deep to contribute to making these children of god new homes and help to rebuild the life of others in NEED.
Life or death is in all of our hands. May we all sleep well and pray your conscience is cleared.

Powerful magnificent write Archie.

Love Angelxxxx
