Pieces shattered
A heart given on demand
Guilt that conspires
To unreasonable commands

I am not a rock
I crumble when shocked
Shutter when stopped
Ache when punched in the gut
Suckered by smarts
Slow it down
Retard
The motion from where we start
The ocean departs
Taking the waves
And sinking the heart

Lamp-post stands with shattered bulbs
Two hands grab
Squeeze the balls
Pain that makes its way to the nerves
Plains that stretch from the skyrise
To the green acres of the suburbs
This comes as no surprise
This comes after all those lies

I am not absolved

Nor have I begun to resolve
The questions that spin
And constantly revolve
There is no battle to win
The mystery has been solved
The conspiracy has been ousted
The whistle blower has been heard

Or so I have been told

The title makes me think of what I said about work : )

Well, I don't really know what to say about this one. It just seems so utterly sad...This sounds very personal, and heartfelt.
I'm sure in time things will get easier. Very good job with this write.

Ooooo painfully sad but a very good write. Can't say I understand it 100% but it seems that once that mystery is solved for you, you will be able to let in "reasonable requests" and keep out those "unreasonable commands". Take care and hope the pain leaves soon.
