The lingering squeeze of one's hand
A warm caring hug and embrace
It's a loving whispered enduring phrase

The stir of a cool summer breeze
The blooming flower in the spring
The beauty of the fall leaf
The wonder of a fresh fallen snow
The relinquishing of one stage
For the arrival of another new season

Taken separately each a simmering moment
But collectively a monumental event
To herald in one change of venue for another
Each with its' unique origin and design
One of human connection and the divine
The other of Mother Nature so sublime

To show love and appreciation
Ones' greatest personal reward
What more can we ask for
Then to be revered by our Lord

Oh Will..this is so beautiful.... we have so much to be thankful for in this life that we should never ask for more.
We should learn to appreciate the 'little things in life'.
Thank you for sharing this...
Hugs
Jenni

mmm very nice. Some of those things I had in mind when writing my latest too. I enjoyed the way you separated into stanzas the wonder of humanity and the wonder of nature, yet included both. Lovely work!
Blessings, J.

Will! I love this.

It really is the little things that are important. They mean the most, to me.

This is gorgeous.

And it really made me smile.

Great write.
*hugs*

I have found in life these stanzas to be quite true. If you can find the beauty of simplicity in anything, human or nature, then you have found the truest most important part. This is truly a lovely read. Thank you for sharing it.

I think this song deserves a song quote

"A gentle touch
can mean so much
a smile a letter sent away
a little smile
can be so worth while
to show affection each day"

From "The little things you do" by Sam Cooke

Your poem reminds me greatly of this song and its meaning. You have written a very inspirational poem.

Very well done!
