and dreamed a dream that could not be.
The waves that plunged upon the shore
said only: "Dreamer, dream no more."

But still, the surf would charge the beach.
It's battle cry in frothy speech
was changed when it's imperial strain
murmurmed: "Never dream again!"

I turned to home from out the gloom
and thought I never would assume..
..but suddenly a sound, that stirred
within my very chest, I heard...

It was my heart, that like the sea,
within my chest, beat ceaselessly...
and like the waves along the shore
said: "...Think you dream?
Well, dream no more!"

When said to a dreamer to dream no more it's like taking their whole world away from them. I re read this over and over and it drew me in so deep, 'twas like I felt the sea calling out to me.
Beautiful, captivating yet sadness lulls behind the lines. An extremely powerful, thought provoking and remarkable write Billy.
For as long as I live my heart shall continue to dream my friend...
Hugs from ur devoted fan,
Sue, Eternal_Dreamer

Never give up wishes or dreams. They do sometimes come true. You can only win if you try. Never refuse to dance, my dear. It might be the most beautiful waltz of your life. Sometimes dreams and wishes can last forever and beyond. Are you willing to chance it? As long as your heart beats, it is waiting to love again. Dance Billy, dance.

dreams.................wishes....................are like faith, and hope. Should you dream, and IT not be exactly, doesnt mean, that one still can not have or get what they expected. As, i havebeleived, in..............life has no guarentees, yet by dreaming, and making it into something, can be possible!

Flawlessly executed rhythm and rhyme! I like the melancholy here, and the images the words conjure. Nicely done, nicely done.

Wow, that really touched me...Dream no more? It is almost like saying it is pointless to dream, like it will do no good to do such a thing...I dunno, that's how I felt about it when I read it. I love the way this was written.

Beautiful.

So simple and pure....sad ending....

sometimes it ourselves that stops us from dreaming...

Touching and most stellar words from you.

My heart does cry.

I'm with Jenni... and in a lame attempt to avoid a horrid cliche (having to do with one door closing, yadda yadda), I'll simply whisper "but.... when one dream ends, Billy....".

Andrew's right... this is beautifully executed --- so much so that the melancholy is trapped up in it.... making it hard for anyone that's been there to read this. Yes... some dreams die (even those we thought never should), but do so, I think, because they were meant to. I believe sometimes (as hard as it is to believe in certain moments) they have to... so that we might see our way clear to the next one. May the next one come soon, friend.

Touched by this -

((((Billy))))
I had to read this and REread this. How tortured and solemn;
but beautifully descriptive in style. A wonderful read.
You have a tremendous way of writing and expressing emotion
that very few can accomplish. Well done my friend!
Truly. One of my very favourites!
