For years on end I had nothing
For most of my life I’ve been alone
One day I got the news
My life took a sudden twist
In four months time
I’d finally have life
For I had created one
No more drugs
No more beer
I wanted to be a good man
When my daughter got here
I proposed to her mom
I bought a safe car
But like all things I want in life
The reach to grab them fell short
Angel never made it
She died five days after my birthday
I haven’t been the same since
She really was an angel though
She is why my life is what it is
I won’t toke
I seldom drink
And asked why not
It is of her that I think
The one thing that would have
Made my life complete
And she was taken from me
My family calls it an act of god
I tell them to burn
When I tell people my story
They say “oh my god, I’m sorry”
I take my black glasses off
And look them in the eye
To all who speak of god
“what god?!”

Heartache that noone could describe for you.your little angel may have been taken from you but she set you on a new path.Don't let that go to waste by feeling bitter. She came for a reason and she will always live on in your heart. She's safe from the pain of the world and I'm sure she hopes that before too long you will make another angel, who will stay with you and bring all the joys only a child can.Good luck, Ros

This poem is so powerful and filled with emotion. Well done for expressing yourself so eloquently. Well done for cleaning up your life also. Stay strong in yourself and live your life in honour of your Angel.
