Array ( [sid] => 106611 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Beneath [time] => 2005-09-27 16:50:09 [hometext] => People we portray, as trustworthy, as loving and kind, are sometimes not what they seem, our true visions blurred by what lies are set out for us to believe in, traps, which in most cases, leaves the prey hanging to its slowly awaiting end. [bodytext] => I never saw what was beneath you,
what you thought, of me, the world, yourself.
I never understood your actions, nor your
words. I never realized what you were,
I only saw what was infront of me, and though
I dug deeper for what at the moment
seemed love, I was only looking through
more lies, more entangled did I become,
as I searched for what I thought you could
be. And I guess through all that,
I must have changed you, must have said or
did something wrong. Something to make
you turn on me, and do and say the things
you did. The actions you lay guilty to,
still haunt me, and forever will, the words,
you never uttered, but made echo through out
the walls, still burn in my memory. I portrayed
you as something different, a person
of whom I could trust, and have faith in.
Someone who would never cause me harm,
physically nor emotionally. But all along,
I believed in a person, that which did not really
exist, just a shell filled with lies, filled with
hatred, a darkened venom, which pleads,
and in the shadows lurks for victoms.
My vision of you was never blurred till the day
you raged against me, never was I so shocked,
to be betrayed again, by someone I loved,
at least at the moment was the thought. And
after the introduction to the beast you truely were,
there was no escape for me, there was no release,
there still isn't. You lay unpunished, unconsequenced
for your actions, your words. A man, nor woman, has a
certain age at which they become so, it's the moment,
the day, you begin to take responsibility for your words
and actions you become said man or woman. That day
has yet to come for you. Past experience places doubt in my
mind, it ever will. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 179 [topic] => 48 [informant] => autumn_zephyr [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )

I agree with Sarah, your explanation set it up nicely. I was drawn in and captive all the way through. Great write. I'll have to watch for more of your work.

peace and hugs, john
