Strange infatuations seem to come in the evening tides,
Like voluptuous prostitutes and pouty-lipped whores,
So enticing… so… divinely arousing…

I am an Innocent.

:::Averted eyes:::

Most of the time…

When light still resonates with blinding fury across the skies,
And these filthy thoughts are cast away in the shadows
Until night bleeds

(dri… pp … ing…)
.
.
.
.
.

Like my desecrated heart,
Like my healing wrists,

/Reopened/

{For the sake of your damned memory…}

Sorrow is dressed like me today.

And for once, Death doesn’t have his hands up my skirt,
But I know he’ll return to me…
Once upon a time, I was free…

^*^
I have no soul to sell, nor a new story to tell,
Because it all ends the same, it’s just the same ***** game,
I’m incarcerated in my own hell
With nothing to turn to except my memories and shame.

^*^

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(((Why the ***** are you still here?!?!)))
Stop. Reading. This.
There is nothing more to say.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

But my tattered hands still scribble broken dreams,
Still compose the same litanies with a requiem’s tune…

Are you still here?

Tell me…

This poem sort of reminds me of e.e. *****s.
A little bit.
Your story is brilliantly told.
And yes, I believe you ARE still living.
If you can write like this you are still living.

I like the structure of this poem. The language is very effective to get an emotional response from the reader.
I feel like I know you.
Even though I don't.
Only because it looks like you're just like me.

You're not the only one who feels like this.
I hope that that's a comforting thought to you.

Your writing friend,
Cupid

Stephy... wow I could definitely sense the
anguish in this one this really gripped me and
forced me to pay attention.

"But my tattered hands still scribble broken dreams,
Still compose the same litanies with a requiem’s tune…"

The whole poem was great, but those two
lines really stuck out to me... perhaps
because I can relate to them. Yeah awesome
write I hope you don't feel like this anymore.

I loved this for many reasons.

This is only one of them:

Sorrow is dressed like me today.

I feel it unfair to pick out only one example of the heartwrenching brilliance that is this work...

The format of it reminds me greatly of a lot of my poems... *smiles reminiscently*

I feel your pain close around my heart.

I feel my heart close around your pain.

You are still living.

The way you write is something else.
At times your poems are beyond sensual.
Other times , like this , you reach right out
and break the readers heart. You know when
you can feel the tears building up in your eyes? Well that's me right now. It's not the
first time your writing has done it. Just goes
to show the power of your words. You amaze once again. Truly , your fan , Doug
