Hooked and caught with just one kiss
I never thought I’d see the day
When I would want you in this way
Reflecting on the love we shared
Amazing that how I still care
Crazy I still want you with me
And how I want for you to be
As happy as you were the night
You said I love you ‘neath the lights
Still my love for you runs deep
And still I’m with you as you sleep
Please don’t fear that you should fall
Cause I’ll still catch you, after all
Don’t shy away when the sun goes down
When that moon rises, please don’t frown
When that breeze blows, don’t feel chill
Cause I’m there now, and always will
I’ll wrap you up when that wind blows
I’ll be your shelter when it snows
And when that thunder head rolls near
I’ll calm your nerves and chase your fears
Should those hazel eyes well up
You have my shoulder, buttercup
What hurts me most of all is that
When you most need me that I can’t
Be the man that picks you up
When with life you’ve had enough
I wish that I could make you see
That man is all I want to be
So someday when you are lonely
Close your eyes and think of me
Let my memory fill your mind
And look inside and you will find
The boy that held you when you cried
That picked you up and held you high
A boy that once upon a time
Called you his and you called “mine”
If I could share these thoughts with you
Would it make a difference if you knew
Exactly how I feel inside
And how much you mean to my life
That your voice cheers up my day
And how sad I’ve been while you’re away
And when I’ve had ‘bout all I’ll take
I think of you and drift away
As you lay in bed and sleep tonight
I hope you hear these words of mine
And when you awake from your dreams
Take some time to think of me [comments] => 3 [counter] => 174 [topic] => 2 [informant] => craigcully [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 1 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LovePoetry )

I run that question through my mind every minute of the day. Very good piece, hope there's more where that came from.
