a girl who cuts a girl who screams
what are we doing here?

you know the names
but little else
Michael, Alex, Germany
who are you to assume
that is what I meant at all?

these are the liberties we take
we think of ourselves as
the lead role on the stage
fit and right to burn and fight
just to have a frustrated brunette
on the other end of the cyber
land look at her screen and say

“I didn’t mean that at all… I never meant that…”

but I’m writing and this just comes out
I never had the intention, I never had the right
to pick myself apart

“I didn’t mean to say that… I never meant to suggest…”

but it's already out there for you judge, isn't it...?
I've lost the right to what I've written
the poetry becomes yours when it falls
into your hands
it's my name on the byline, but
it's your mind that hues the write...

unless of course you're a premium member and then you can edit your work. So if you aren't a premium member, it's probably best to edit a lot before hand and say what you mean the first time. or just keep writing and posting until you really know what you mean .. it's not up to a reader to read your mind; but it is up to a writer to be clear ..

Hello there,
Emotional outcry... Well, you answer your questions yourself very well... There is a good way out - not to write, then you will be free from any comments, suggestions, critique but in the same time you will lose something you value so much, which is your ability to express yourself in the poetic way...
Good luck,
Alex

Every one has a different view on poetry.likes and dislikes vary.some like spiritual, others hate it.some like writing about pain, some don't.At the end of the day we are a writing community, reading and writng together.Hopefully we are tactful inour critques as rudeness or bluntness gains nothing for any one.Sorry if you have been hurt.don't be discouraged, just keep writing from the heart .you have to please no one but yourself, good luck, Ros

mm nice, i liked that. a lot of people dont understand my meanings either, i'm like "??!??! how....could you think i meant that...or not get that" but it's still yours, because you can hold the satisfaction your mind is too much for theirs to comprehend.

we're all so ignorant. we read something and assume that we can comprehend the meaning turn the complexity into a simple event or explanation. we should all be saying, "to me this write said." or i took it as this. what's with everyone saying "i know what you mean." even in this write you could be talking about a million different things. there are layers to everything letters and sentences that are clear to others and hidden for me. we are all different and will recieve everything differently. you expressed yourself well, regardless of what it is and what it is taken for. you can definately write and to give it up for the sake of misunderstanding or the stupidity of other people is just being a wasteful idiot. treasure your talent even when no one else does. writing should be more about you than anyone else. and god forbid someone does understand you that well that my friend is just a bonus. luck. if there is such a thing

~kneel in prayers that time is on our side. for tonight i sat with the blade in hand and denied myself. seven more times for this hell of a life~weepingprophet

Dri,

...this poem met my gaze and wouldn't back down...I am bone weary of real-time artificiality...get together and what do people talk about...a whole lot of nothing...I don't do "nothing" so I feel really alien in settings like that...

...through this forum I have discovered a few who want to express a depth of reality in a way that communicates...there are those who skim the surface feelings and there are those who are purposely obscure for whatever reasons one wishes to pin to the practice...I have sensed over time that what you express is there not to impress or confuse, but to communicate a real heart, a real soul, a real spirit, a real intellect, a real person...oh, it need not be mentioned that you are not skimming transient surface emotions but are dealing in the currency of pain searching for Truth...Meaning...whatever it is us crazy poets are looking for...

...the reality of this cyber-stuff stinks, just like the reality of space and time and chronology and age stinks...whatever limitations this medium saddles us with, your poetic expressions have real meaning for me and your comments and thoughts are valued very much...

...hopefully, you've just been on a holiday jaunt to the Rivera...ha,ha...that's one place we'll never meet!!! But, honestly, keep writing, communicating and take good care of every part of you...

...thanks for your poetry...
