SNAPDRAGON

In my life I've entered another phase.
I'm wilted flowers not used in bouquets
In my aged eyes 'floaters' swim everywhere
Sightless in one, the other--bloodshot from glare

I have two arms, but only one will work....
I've lost all my teeth, so my lips smirk!
I have only a few hairs left on my head.
Short-term memory is gone, "brain-dead!"

My color is purple, circulation is shot!
I stop in my tracks, destination I forgot!
Thank God for sturdy walls in my home
Better than crutches whenever I roam.

Take heart all you folks found in this phase,
I'll share a perfect remedy from all the gourmets
Get a big bottle of Bailey's Irish Creme
Or if you prefer Jack Daniels Supreme

No more wilted flowers nor leaning on walls.......
Rejuvenation of your memory, instant recalls.
The transformation is certainly amazin'
I feel like a SnapDragon,
part of me has snapped,
and the rest of me
is draggin'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My thanks to my funny
friend Rita for the
very humorous picture
that led to this poem, and
my complete numbness!
