Array ( [sid] => 109101 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Sparkle Sparkle [time] => 2005-11-04 23:10:32 [hometext] => I wrote this in a manic state one night. Everything I write is very vocal, so I'm never sure how it translates when written. But this one especially is heavy on accented delivery. But I decided to post it anyways..... [bodytext] =>

I wrote a thought

It sparkled a bit, but it wasn't much

It was about this dozen cloud caper I found myself in
The stars I couldn't see
And the rain I clutched like bleeding hearts

I hold my mirror with shaky hands...

Run faster after burning ashes
Clog my lungs with songbird sonnets

Poetry is the diamonds in the river
And laughter from timed spurts of reality
Left my fingerprints all over this mess

Distress signals!

My morse code had several STRessed syllables

I stay up sleeping most nights

Can't seem to fall awake
The walls are fake
So I peer out wishful windows with a haunted face

Tragedy's my favorite word....

In dark dreamscapes I can scream safe
Without a single face disturbed

Pardon my solemn sagas

I write epic poems of epileptic episodes
When left alone I take metronome steps towards home

But I'm lost 'cause
My compass rose won't blossom

Built a monochrome plaza where I house all my haves and have nots
And eat half thoughts

BACKWARDS...

Spinning dizzy dialogues
I dialed God's number and got her answering machine

But no answers.....

So I count down stars starting from infinity

It proved to be too much

The planets got jealous when the sun got moonstruck

Singing broken lullibies
Strung together with toungue depressers

DASHING DESPERATE

I'm a well wisher, wishing I was a well getter
But the lines on my palms spell never!

I've held together this long...

It was all...a cascading waterfall
Of afterthoughts and preconceptions....

A mask I wore... that I never asked for

(Sigh) I wanna know if the stars have stars
Because if not... the sky must be mighty dark for them

Yet we all wanna be one..

Dazed and confused....

.......I wonder if I'll sleep tonight [comments] => 0 [counter] => 163 [topic] => 73 [informant] => shade [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => abstract )

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
