REMEMBERING

She asked me politely
"Connie how would you like
to be remembered?"

"I hope everyone can say that I was kind
and throughout my life, that was never altered!
That I went out of my way to help my fellowman
who needed a gentle touch......
I hope I showed my friends that I
loved them very much!

To be remembered as being honest
Living my life with Integrity, that
I was very loyal, that would
be the neatest!
Mercy is compassion in action.
I've tried always to be a
merciful person,

To be generous to all, not just with
material things, but my love.
Given freely to all like my
Loving Heavenly Father above.

Being able to see when a person
needed a helping hand,
Helping them before they had to ask
unplanned.
A person of faith who never
compromised.
Who loved good and bad
I despised

A moral woman who set a good
example for everyone
Especially the younger generation
their hearts strengthen
Good worker, good parent,
good wife also.
Keeping an open mind so that
I could continue to grow.

We will all be known by the way we
made others feel...........
May I be remembered for helping
all broken hearts heal.
Being genuine, not hypocritical
"down to earth" real

But.....

Best of all........if they can say
She lived her faith, she walked closely
in Christ Jesus' footsteps
even on her last day........"

And.....

Now I ask you politely
How would you like to be
remembered in every way?

really thought provoking poem. I guess I honestly have to say that I don't care how I'm remembered. If I affect one person for the good and it passes on .. the rest doesn't matter to me. Kind of like a homeless person,
maybe he's homeless because circumstances force him or her to be; but he's kind, and moves one person to goodness .. it's then that his being counts and not after .. and there probably won't be anyone at his funeral anyway. Treat me with kindness now please.
A lot of persons just care about the after and go about
doing good for the wrong reasons.. to build up credits with God.. not out of a pure heart. At least it appears that way to me ..

So beautiful as always Connie! I guess I wouls want people to know I was always trying to help others instead of myself first,That I tried to do the best for my children & always tried to keep them safe from harm.
I am a creative person with poetry ,crafts or just thinking of things.Always try to make others happy.Christina
