Something to remember you by
Ive felt too alone for far too long
And the times done everything but fly
I just need a little bit of help
Resucitating this still heart of mine
It hasn’t been beating for quite a while
And its grown a little cold, over time
So if you could just reach, down where its dark
Into my soul, through the memories and fears
Perhaps I could repay with a little heartfelt love
Its there, but been locked up for years
Its not that im asking for commitment, or true love
Or anything like it, at all
Im just so weary of feeling lukewarm
Of climbing only halfway, anticipating a fall
So if you’d be so kind, please press against me now
Or touch your lips to mine
Or warm my heart somehow
Because its not that im frozen and dead
Im just not quite alive
but I think I almost remember it
And I miss the feeling sometimes
So I wont say im numb,
I wont say im in pain
And I wont tell you how my
broken heart aches
But it’d be so nice to feel
Like I did once, long ago
When a boy I knew, I think he loved me
Or at least he told me so
I don’t quite recall, what happened to him
Or whats happened to me, since that day
But I think, If you just kiss me
I might be able to remember
The way it felt, with no price to pay
I remember long ago, it took hold of me then
And even though it feels colder than an early november
Perhaps I can know warmth inside, again.
And the feeling will be just as I remembered
So touch me, caress me, kiss me, anything will do
And I’ll be ever grateful my friend,
Because there is no feeling more terrifying, more real
Than indifference and bleakness without end.

Amen to that. Resonates with this lonely heart, thats for sure. Its a scary feeling underlying your plaintive and heartfelt plea. If this is your current state and not just "creative remembering" for the sake of art, you are not alone.

Riin a deep and heartfelt write you have here. I like the way you bring this across to your reader. The flow and rhyming sensational. You can feel your lonliness through the words that you've displayed. An excellent poem. Thanks so much for sharing it with us Riin.
*hugs*
