Whether I’m there or not
No one cares to talk much
Or think a careful thought
Looking out for yourself
Is all well and good
But helping a brother
Then you’ve understood
What it’s like to give
The spotlight up once
But oh no, never
The lion always hunts
There may be talk after
But hearing is gone
You don’t understand
That the ***** hurts a ton
My shoulders are weak
Bruised, black and blue
That’s how they get
After carrying you
But it doesn’t sink in
Hard to get in your head
Maybe some people
Would rather leave instead
It doesn’t revolve around you
That’s the sun, I mean
But still no one cares
Soon I turn eighteen
And then suddenly it hits
I’m not bored at all
I’ve just reached the end
I’ve hit my wall
So how do I get around?
Should I just climb up top?
See the other side
Over the edge I will hop
Hop to a new life
A new type of me
Do you have any idea?
How much better I’ll be
I hope it works out
I can’t handle much more
I’m carrying too much
And my shoulders are sore

So I’ll say my goodbyes
My so longs and goodnights
Remembering always
I’m still in this fight

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
