I love you Dusty, and I hope you knew that while you were here.
the thought of you not knowing that, to my eyes brings a tear.

In my imagination, your death I can not see.
for in my mind, your still here, joking and cutting up with me.

You see, I can still remember when you were just a boy,
in fact the day that you were born, I bought you your first toy.

Many years from the day of your birth, I’d come and play with you,
Even after your mom & dad, found a new town to move to.

You were always such a mess: a joy in the lives of those you knew.
It seems in my imagination, I can just reach out and hug you.

In reality, your in a far much better place.
But here in our hearts, your death was such a waste.

I can see pictures of you as a little boy and that doestn’t bother me so.
But when I see the man I knew you’d become, I wish you hadnt had to go.

This has been harder than I thought it would be.
I guess I loved you more than I thought capable for me.

So I try to stay within my imagination: Cuz there you still exist.
And there no pain, no hurt, no sorrw : for those things it must resist.

So when I begin to feel blue because I can hug you no more.
I go to my imagination, where my heart can love you OH! so much more.

This poem, in all actuality, brought tears to my eyes. Death is a strange thing, and we never expect to lose those that we love. I have found that writing ANYTHING, especially a poem helps me deal with all the confusion and hardship that is brought around by a loved one's passing. And it is true that in our minds, the ones we lose are still there, and we long to stay in our imaginations where we can still hear their laughing voices.

Never lose your imagination or your memories. And remember, your nephew will be smiling down on you always.

thank you so much, Thanksgiving is really hard on us, he actually was killed in November and his funeral on Thanksgiving day, which ruins the Holidays for us all, however, thru time God has worked a major healing process and we do better, but is hard to not think of him on days such as today. I appreciate your encouragment and thoughts.
