...If we curse the voice of reason
...If we turn away from the lips that kiss us
...If we hold back anyone who shows promise
...If we abandon the hearts that loved us
...If we break a promise without justification
...If we fail to be there when someone needs us
...If we refuse to be a shoulder to cry on
...If we choose to be ignorant when we need to understand
...If we steal something that meant a lot to someone
...If we're proud when we pray
...If we're indifferent to those less fortunate
...If we mistreat those who are kind to us
...If we over indulge when others strave
...If we follow when we should be leading

Forgive us, Father, for sometimes we know not what we do. We act for today rather than thinking about tomorrow. Bless our friends and our enemies; for you sent them to shape our characters; we are products of each other.

Good write, we are all supposedly as one in spirit, just a shame that by the time we all realisem that spirit will have been broken beyond repair, but what if just what if????

Amazing poem, though I disagree, I think we are fully aware of the evil we do

Extremely deep and moving, it is a shame in our society, how the homeless and shunned, "foreigners" are persecuted, and the wayward are scolded, but I suppose these ar characteristics, we would hate in ourselves. May we all have the decency and compassion you have in achieving this level of compassion, well done!
