If the paparazzi were at the battle before
Lord Nelson would never have won his war
By public outcry he would be hanged
Each error, with evil intent assumed
Already having given an eye and a hand
To this glorious Isle, this England
Would not be enough, for the call for blood to abate
From Ambassador, to Traitors Gate
For the media just must have its say
On everything that happens today
Must get it right, just got to win
To make any error tis judged a mortal sin
We read in the papers, we can take moral high ground
We just shouldn’t tolerate, failure around
The price of a lost battle is costly with pain
And the media will judge and hand out the blame
No second chances, even if you’re our best hope
Self-righteousness and indignation the emotions, for which we grope
No credit given for trying, if you do not succeed
Ridicule & ribald are all that you need
Great leaders we want, in fact we want Gods
But we want them human, which puts us at odds
What are the prospects for leaders new?
When they see the benefits numbered so few
In the form of vocation leadership should take
With every intention up for emotional rape
A leader must be tough, and of course know the score
A loss of a battle, is not the loss of a war.

Excellent piece here. Lots of catching lines. The media man, they are like blood hounds. The more horrid the story is the better the rating. Sex and violence sells it all. Peace to you and thanks for stopping in and reading my work. Laura
